And the race is on..

The race is on to get everything ready for the move next Monday the 14th the packers will arrive to start boxing everything up. One major element is still missing though and that's my Husband!! He was due back on the 28th of May and I still have no idea when he will be returning. My fingers are crossed that's this week. He said he told them he needs to leave Tuesday or he will start to get violent.. Ha Ha!! So maybe that will work.

I have to get everything boxed up that we keep the original boxes for and go through every closet and throw away anything we won't be needed and all that random stuff we accumulate over time. And there is the daunting task of going through all the boxes in the garage and make sure there are no creepy crawly in there that will go with us. My husband usually gets that job!

When we moved up here from FL there was a skink in the Deep Freezer he was a little one and he survived the trip up and grew to a much larger size while he was living in there and surprised the Hell out of me one day... He managed to escape and made his way into the outdoors so I don't know if he survived the winter or not.  It got pretty cold in FL so it's possible.. They have skinks in VA but they are brown with red lines instead of Black with Blue lines so maybe there will be a new species..lol

We applied at all the Military housing available in MD.. We have a pretty good wait for Ft. Meade and Andrews AFB (which is the good stuff ) but Annapolis has an opening when we arrive next week. I'm going to drive up there on Thursday and take a look at it. It's very small according to the website 1,000 sq ft. And the google Map isn't making it look good. Since we are so close, well kinda 3 1/2 hours I want to check it out first. If it's a no go we will be in a hotel or somewhere for a month waiting for Andrews to open up.. They said mid July before we get in. I'd rather have my stuff packed up here in VA and taken door to door. If it goes into temporary storage that's when it all gets lost.

I need make a phone call today to see if I can get us into Thurmont which is also known as Camp David.. It's a smaller base and Bill would have a longer drive but the area is really nice.. We are going to be there for 3 years so we want to get a decent house this time around even if that means waiting!
